We continue with the competition, the theme is “Borders” (more about it is in section “Competition” of website). This year, prizes will be provided by companies Moomin Characters and Corel. The best works will be presented at the exhibition in the Small Hall “Manege” on the channel Griboyedov 103.
In addition, this year we will be able to invite participants from other cities, but not more than 20 people whose work will be included in the shortlist and to provide them accommodation in St Petersburg from 22 to 26 September in a hostel in the center of the city. Transportation costs they will pay themselves, if necessary visa support, we will arrange it.

International Comics Festival Boomfest was born in 2007 in Saint-Petersburg. Since then it has grown up into a bright international event in the world of comics art. Annually in September the festival covers the main city stages. Comics and illustration exhibitions, performances, film screening, competetitions and master-classes for young authors, meetings with artists and professionals and of course the book-fair — all of these could be found within every Boomfest.
In 2011 the Boomfest exhibition program takes place from 10th September to 16th October and educational program from 23th to 25th September.

August 25 we finish our competition. We got more than 140 comics and it’s more than last year. List of authors of works belonging to a short-list will appear on our website until 10 September. These works will be exhibited in the garden of the Fountain House at a location nearby museum of Anna Akhmatova.

In Perm the modern art festival “Live Perm” proceeds. Boomfest together with the new comics festival “City stories” (Perm) represents some exhibitions: the best competitive works for 3 years of festival, Oleg Tischenkov “CAT +1″, Alexey Nikitin “Jesus has told” and David B. “Epileptic”. Boomfest in Perm represent by Alexey Nikitin and Nikita Litvinov.
