Comics residence Bordeaux – Saint-Petersburg

With the assistance of the the Mayor’s office of Bordeaux and the French Institute in St. Petersburg as part of the 20th anniversary of twin cities Bordeaux and St Petersburg will be artists exchange, the goal is to get acquainted with the life and culture of cities. The result of creative exchange will be a bilingual “unofficial” guide “Bordeaux and Saint-Petersburg in comics”, and the exhibition, which will be held in both cities in 2013.

The first step in this exchange will be a visit to St. Petersburg from September 27 to October 11, an artist from Bordeaux François Ayroles, who will take part in activities of Boomfest. The second step will be a return visit St. Petersburg’s artist Varvara Pomidor to Bordeaux, where she will spend two weeks with 15 to 29 October 2012.

Residence in Rennes

From 1 to February 15, Saint-Petersburg artists Varvara Pomidor and Alexei Nikitin were in the residence of the city Rennes (France), where they meet with comics culture and worked together with the French artists. Now we are waiting for the return visit, which will be held in September this year. The project organize with the festival Periscopages.
